NS boards take the trophies in Saltburn
The event took place over Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May
Saturday saw a small swell of waves but with the promise of better conditions the event was held over until the Sunday. This proved the right decision as the surf improved with a swell consistently breaking all day
The full competition was run through-out the day with all 4 categories of competition completed
Highlights-
The current Men’s Pro Champion -Russell Winter (from Newquay Cornwall) won the Men’s competition with Gordon Fontaine (France) in second place. The Women’s Pro event was won by Holly Donnelly (from Newquay)

In the Men’s Pro division- local Newcastle surfer Sam Lamiroy competed and finished in 5th position

Tom Good
NS boards junior team rider, Tom Good pushed all the way to the semi- finals at the Volcom European finals, Held at Anglet this weekend.
Tom placed 3rd in a solid four man semi final in which he snapped his leash after the first wave, got straight back out there & narrowly missed out on a final slot by 0.5, behind top French surfers Ian Fontaine & William Aliotti.
Tom is pleased with a 5th place overall ranking! Surf some good beachbreaks & put his boards to the test.
Tom is now off to the ASP pro-junior in Somo, Northern Spain that starts Friday 6th May, event can be tracked live on
